The service to buy alumni memorabilia through an e-commerce platform was the first of its kind in 2010. It needed to appeal to a 15 yr old in school as also a 60 yr old who passed out forty five years ago. Rohn & Varun were excited but needed guidance.
There needed to be an emotional reason for someone to engage and we took the route of ‘memories’. The logo was a crest, much like school emblems. The green and brown reminded you of playgrounds and trees, a time that was fun and free.
The website was amongst the top 5 best designed E-Commerce sites of 2010 in India. The brand is a national phenomenon with over 6 Million followers on facebook and Varun Agarwal has written a National Best-Seller about the story of Alma Mater, in which Exit Designs’ contribution is mentioned frequently.
The team was with us the whole way. While deliverables and quality were always excellent, the team worked on the project as if they were a part of the company. That support and sense of ownership that they gave us was incredible and is an integral part of how and why Alma Mater has reached where it has today.
